2009 Infiniti Sedan Information
Back in 2003, Infiniti’s G Sedan was launched as a powerful rear-wheel drive sports sedan and was positioned as an alternative to the BMW 3 Series, Lexus IS and Audi A4. The Infiniti sedan outranked these competitors by offering more interior space and incorporating Nissan’s powerful VQ-series 3.5-liter V-6 engine into its design.
Years later in 2007, the redesigned second-generation G35 Sedan entered the market and was larger, more powerful and possessed added features of luxury in comparison to its predecessor. Basically, the V-6 engine had been improved to have a smoother ride, better efficiency, and more horsepower, while still displacing 3.5 liters that kept it true to its G35 name.
There is no doubt that the G35 was an exceptional seller all-around with the 306-horsepower it possessed, but it has recently seen the end of its time, only to have something new and quite impressive take its place—the Infiniti G37. In 2008, the G37 coupe was first to receive the 3.7-liter V6, with the sedan model being a year behind in getting the engine upgrade. Now, the 4-door sedan-model has been reintroduced as “The G37 Sedan” for 2009.
The all-new Infiniti G37 Sedan, not only gets the powerful 328-horsepower 3.7-liter engine, but drivers can choose between a new seven-speed automatic transmission and a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. In addition, the G37 Sedan is bringing forth a number of other exciting features. These features include an available upgraded (sport) braking package with four-piston front/two-piston rear calipers and 14-inch front and 13.8-ince rear rotors, an innovative sport 18-wheel design and Scratch Shield paint that comes standard.
The G37 Sedan lineup includes four impressive models, including the G37, G37 Journey, G37S Sport 6MT, and the G37x AWD. The G37 and G37 Journey are the standard models with rear-wheel drive. The G37S Sport 6MT is the sportiest model of the four, with rear-wheel drive and is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Lastly, the G37x is the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version designed for inclement weather. Fuel economy is unchanged for the manual-transmission G37 model in comparison to its predecessor, but the rest of the lineup sees gains of 1 mpg in the city and 2 on the highway to 18-26 for the rear-wheel-drive cars and 18-25 for the all-wheel-drive G37x. This is due to the use of a seven-speed automatic, which has replaced the old five-speed.
Infiniti of Norwood is embracing this all-new vehicle as one that
can prove to be as great a success or better than the G35 model of yesterday.
